The Croft has a small team of paid staff and volunteers who support visitors at HMP Barlinnie:
Catriona Gibson (Director)
Catriona started with the project when it began in early 2012 and continues to run the Croft now that it is a small, independent charity.
Michele Brown (Volunteer Co-ordinator)
Michele is based in the Family Services Room Monday-Friday and you’ll also see her in the Waiting Area before most visits during the week. Michele started with the Croft as a volunteer in 2012, before becoming a Sessional Worker and then Volunteer Co-ordinator in 2013.
Laura joined the team at the start of 2019 and is a qualified counsellor with lots of experience in community work and advocacy.
Fiona; Nancy and Liene (Sessional Outreach Team)
This team help to cover visit times at evenings and weekends. All of the sessional team started out as volunteers with the Croft and all bring a range of skills and experiences to the team.
Volunteer Team: they are also usually in at evenings and weekends to support visitors. Many of our volunteers are interested in working in criminal justice or have experience of criminal justice. We’re also always keen to encourage volunteers from the local area, particularly people with lived experience of the criminal justice system.
